Georgia to Allow Entry Only for Tourists with Negative Laboratory Test Results
Georgia will only permit entry to tourists who present a negative laboratory test result for coronavirus, stated Georgian Prime Minister Giorgi Gakharia.
"Tourists arriving in Georgia must undergo a PCR test; otherwise, they will not be allowed to enter the country. Of course, we will create opportunities for rapidly conducting PCR tests within the country if newcomers do not have such test results. However, organized tourist groups will only be allowed to enter provided they comply with these regulations," the Prime Minister said.
Meanwhile, Gakharia reminded that organized tourist groups will be accommodated in "green zones"—hotel complexes that receive the appropriate permission from the Ministry of Health based on the results of inspections related to hygiene, food, transportation, and other requirements.
It should be noted that from July 1, the tourist season will open in Georgia.
