The Prime Minister on Vacation Remains Prime Minister: Alen Simonyan

The Prime Minister on vacation remains Prime Minister. This was stated by the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, in a post on his Facebook page. He specifically wrote:

“The Prime Minister on vacation remains Prime Minister. Article 23 of the Electoral Code of Armenia defines a number of prohibitions regarding pre-election campaigning. For instance, the use of financial, informational resources, premises, transportation, and communication means provided for the execution of official duties or the use of material and human resources is strictly prohibited, EXCLUDING❗️ the measures applied to high-ranking officials who are under state protection according to the Law on the Provision of Security for Persons Under Special State Protection.

Now, the Prime Minister, who continues to be the acting Prime Minister regardless of being on vacation, is a person under special state protection. According to the law on ensuring the security of persons under special state protection, state protection is provided through a number of measures, including individual protection of state protection facilities, special communication, and TRANSPORT SERVICES.”
