Macron Declares That a Coronavirus Pandemic is Ahead
France will have to face the coronavirus pandemic, and it is the doctors' task to effectively respond to the illness, French President Emmanuel Macron announced on February 27. On the same morning, Macron visited the Pitie-Salpetriere hospital in the 13th arrondissement of Paris. It was reported that a French citizen infected with the coronavirus died at that medical facility on the night of February 26.
“A crisis has emerged, a pandemic is expected… It is our duty to confront this best we can,” the French leader stated during a meeting with hospital staff. He assured doctors that he would support them. Currently, 18 people are infected in France, as reported by RIA Novosti.
