Alaverdi's Patrol Police Uncover Illegal Logging Incident
The National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia reported that during the night of February 21, the patrol officers of the Tumanyan division of the police were conducting mobile service in the administrative territory of Dsegh village when they checked a truck belonging to a 52-year-old man from Martz village, which was loaded with approximately 6 cubic meters of timber.
The driver did not present any documents confirming the legality of the cargo. The truck was taken to the special storage area of the Tumanyan division of police.
It was revealed that the driver had acquired the timber from a resident of Martz village to transport it to Vanadzor. Materials related to the incident are being prepared, and a professional inspection has been appointed. Circumstances are being clarified.
