The Issue of Armenia's Participation in CSTO Must Be Resolved in a Reasonable Timeframe: Secretary General
The decision regarding Armenia's future participation in the CSTO must be made within a reasonable timeframe. This was stated by the organization's Secretary General, Taalaatbek Masadikov, according to Armenpress referencing RIA Novosti.
"We proceed from the standpoint that the decision regarding the prospects of Armenia's participation in the CSTO should be made within a reasonable timeframe," Masadikov declared.
Previously, Viktor Vasiliev, the permanent representative of Russia to the CSTO, informed RIA Novosti that a consensus would be necessary to adopt a decision on depriving Armenia of voting rights in CSTO bodies.
He noted that the next session of the CSTO Collective Security Council is set to take place on November 11 in Moscow, where the leaders of member states will likely discuss this issue.
