In an effort to mitigate the spread of the novel coronavirus, Chinese authorities have imposed movement restrictions on 780 million people. The restrictions are particularly stringent in Hubei province, the epicenter of the outbreak. This was reported by CNN.
Movement restrictions of varying degrees are in place in Hubei province, where the pandemic's epicenter, Wuhan city, is located, as well as in the major cities of Shanghai and Beijing, and in Liaoning province, adjacent to Beijing.
The strictest restrictions are enforced in four cities in Hubei province, including Wuhan, where residents are prohibited from leaving their homes entirely. Daily deliveries of groceries are being conducted by community services.
