The Journalist Who First Warned About Coronavirus in China Has Disappeared
CNN reports that since February 6, the journalist who prepared the first report on the outbreak of coronavirus in Wuhan has been missing. There is no information about his whereabouts. The journalist's family members and friends suspect that the Chinese government may be involved in his disappearance, as he has frequently been on the authorities' radar, including during the Hong Kong protests.
Journalist Chen Qushi had reported that Li Wenliang, who had previously stated that seven people were infected with the new type of atypical pneumonia, had died. However, the medical community did not respond adequately to this announcement, and the authorities had severely reprimanded Li for spreading false information about the coronavirus.
According to one of the circulating theories, journalist Chen has been taken to a special area under quarantine, although he did not have any virus pathogens.
