WHO Calls for Restraint on Travel Restrictions to China
World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has urged countries to refrain from implementing measures that restrict travel to China and trade with the country without proper justification, due to the outbreak of the 2019-nCoV coronavirus.
Speaking at the 146th session of the WHO Executive Committee in Geneva on February 3, he noted that China's actions in combating the coronavirus have allowed for a slowdown in its global spread. According to the WHO leader, there is no need to “unjustifiably interfere with travel and trade.”
