The head of the Department of Asia and Pacific Countries of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Arek Hovhannisyan, gave an interview to Public Television on the situation surrounding the new type of coronavirus. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“The agreement on the mutual abolition of the visa requirement for holders of ordinary passports between the governments of the Republic of Armenia and the People's Republic of China also provides for suspension in case of force majeure situations for certain periods. The preliminary question has been discussed with our Chinese partners, and they will certainly treat any such decision with respect,” Hovhannisyan said.
In the context of returning Armenian citizens from China, Arek Hovhannisyan noted: “We are working with our international partners, and we are also working with the Chinese side, so that if necessary, it will be possible to organize the return of people.”
