Attention Travelers: Lars is Closed, Snow in Ashotsk and Amasia Regions
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that as of January 31 at 22:18, the roads in the Republic of Armenia are mostly passable. However, the Vardenyats Pass is impassable for all types of vehicles.
In the regions of Shirak and Amasia, snow is falling in Maralik, Artik, Charentsavan, and Hrazdan, as well as in the region of Aragatsotn, from the areas of Tsaghkadzor, Aparan, Gegharkunik region of Chambarak, Sevan, and in the Tavush region of Dilijan and Berd. Snow is also reported in the Lori region, including in Tashir, Stepanavan, and Vanadzor cities, and in the Spitak region.
In the Ashotsk and Amasia areas of Shirak province, there is a blizzard in the village of Akhuryan.
According to information received from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia and the Emergency Situations Ministry of the Russian Federation's North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is closed for all types of vehicles. The crisis management center of the Russian RMAP reports that there are 90 trucks and 20 passenger cars stranded on the Russian side.
