We Witnessed a Bloodless Resolution: Sargsyan on the Incident at Erebuni Plaza
Today, ahead of the awards ceremony marking the 28th anniversary of the formation of the Army, Acting Police Chief Arman Sargsyan addressed reporters regarding the incident at Erebuni Plaza. Sargsyan mentioned that he is not fully aware of the preliminary investigation data but stated, “I can say that the most important issue at that moment was resolved; we witnessed a bloodless resolution.”
The Acting Police Chief did not provide further details but reiterated that their number one priority was to safely remove the individual from the area without any casualties, which was successfully accomplished.
It is worth noting that on January 23 of this year, an unknown person opened sporadic fire towards the Erebuni Plaza. The police leadership, headed by Acting Police Chief Arman Sargsyan, negotiated with the armed individual, after which the person surrendered their weapon. The man was transported to the police station in the service vehicle accompanied by the Acting Police Chief.
