«Our places in the market are already being occupied by others»․ Tsarukyan

Gagik Tsarukyan, the leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, has addressed the challenges faced by businesses and particularly exporters in Armenia, noting that finding a new market and establishing a presence there is extremely difficult in today's world.

“Many of our exporters are facing serious challenges right now. It is a grave mistake to think that these issues will somehow resolve themselves one day, and Armenian exporters will return to their traditional markets. Time does not stand still in business,” Tsarukyan wrote on his Facebook page.

He stated that producers from other countries are gradually taking the place of Armenian products in export markets. “Our places in the market are already being occupied by others. They do not even hide this; they do it openly and publicly. Today, Azerbaijani products are already in the places where many Armenian goods used to be,” he noted.

Tsarukyan warned that if the problems are not addressed, products such as Armenian brandy, wine, cheese, fish, agricultural products, flowers, and others could be replaced by goods from Georgia, Azerbaijan, Moldova, Uzbekistan, and other countries.

According to him, the loss of export markets is not only a problem for entrepreneurs but can disrupt the entire economic chain. “I understand very well what exporters and entrepreneurs feel when their businesses, created from scratch with great effort and investment, are facing the threat of destruction,” Tsarukyan wrote.

He emphasized that small and medium-sized businesses are the “economic backbone” of Armenia, and the state must support entrepreneurs with sound economic policies.
