2000 New Apartments to Be Built Instead of Houses Destroyed by Turkey Earthquake
In Elazığ, Turkey (historically known as Kharberd), numerous buildings have been destroyed as a result of a recent earthquake. In their place, 2000 new apartments will be constructed. This announcement was made by Turkey's Minister of Environment and Urbanization, Murat Kurum. He noted that groundwork has already begun, according to ermenihaber.
It’s worth mentioning that a devastating earthquake occurred in Elazığ province on the evening of January 24, registering a magnitude of 6.8 on the Richter scale. Several dozen aftershocks followed, causing collapses from Elazığ to Malatya.
The death toll from the earthquake has reached 40.
