Working Students' Tuition Will Be Reimbursed Through Income Tax Returns, Says Gabrielian

On January 23, the National Assembly continues its session. The issue of amending the Tax Code is currently being discussed.

Co-author of the bill and member of the 'My Step' faction Sisak Gabrielian mentioned that all students who work during their studies in fields specified by the government will have their tuition reimbursed by the state in the form of income tax returns after the academic year ends.

“A similar example exists in the case of housing. I would like to note that the Ministry of Finance has a negative conclusion on this. I am familiar with their justifications, and we have an agreement to discuss them during the second reading,” said Gabrielian.

He also pointed out that several counterarguments from the ministry are unclear to him. “They are against it because they do not understand whether this is a tax concession or social support. In my opinion, the essence remains unchanged,” he added.
