Why Was Araik Harutyunyan Not Summoned by the NSS?

The newspaper ‘Zhoghovurd’ reports that the National Security Service (NSS) has rejected the request from the lawyer of Gevorg Loretsyan, the former Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports, to invite and question Minister Araik Harutyunyan.

According to the preliminary data obtained by the NSS, the deputy minister allegedly provided support to an entrepreneur in the procurement competitions for sports equipment and apparel needed by the agencies under the ministry, who is the president of one of the football clubs in Armenia and is also the effective head of several supplying companies.

It is also important to note that Gevorg Loretsyan, his driver, and the president of one of the football clubs have been arrested on suspicion of receiving bribes.
