These Laboratories are Also a Serious Base for the Development of Our Defense Industry. Vanetsyan on 'Armat'
Threatening the funding for 'Armat' laboratories will have serious consequences for the future of the information technology sector. This was stated by former NSS director Arthur Vanetsyan on his Twitter blog.
'No reasonable explanation has been provided regarding the termination of the program. These laboratories are also a serious base for the development of our defense industry,' he wrote.
It is noteworthy that the Executive Director of the Union of Information Technology Enterprises (UITE), Karen Vardanyan, responding to the statement by the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Araik Harutyunyan, who said that funds were transferred for the establishment of the 'Armat' engineering laboratories six days ago, stated that such a thing does not exist. He noted that 'Armat' received funding four months ago.
'When that money was given, we thought that the rest would be included in the draft budget, but it did not happen. The government decided to provide only the equipment funds upon the presentation of the Minister of Education, but education is not only about equipment,' Vardanyan added.
He also stated that they are appealing to the Government to investigate the sabotage and added, 'We will continue to invest in the 'Armat' laboratories, whether with the minister or without the minister.'
