Artyom Kanevskoy Detained from St. John Church in Presence of Clergy
Artyom Harutyunov, known as Artyom Kanevskoy, claims that days ago, the police detained him from St. John Church without providing explanations. According to Harutyunov, at that time, there were many people inside the church, and three clergy members were present, one of whom argued with the police over the detention.
This information was reported by the news outlet Hetq.
Harutyunov stated that about 30 police officers were involved in the operation. It is worth noting that Kanevskoy was detained on January 6. According to a statement from the police, "criminal investigators, acting on received operational information, discovered illegal weapons and ammunition in the courtyard of St. John Church in Kond. They detained Kanevskoy, a criminal authority, along with accompanying individuals on suspicion of illegal possession of weapons."
In response to our inquiry, Harutyunov said that the police did not search him for weapons at the time of his detention and that no weapons had been found during previous detentions as well, including on January 6.
