Special Investigation Service Rejects Ara Babloyan's Defense Motion
The Special Investigation Service has rejected the motion of former National Assembly President Ara Babloyan's defense to lift the restriction against leaving the country. This information was provided to 24News by the press service of the Special Investigation Service, specifically stating: “The motion has been rejected on the grounds of being unfounded.”
It should be noted that lawyer Aram Vardevanyan had reported that he submitted a motion to lift the restriction against leaving the country imposed on Ara Babloyan.
“I have not yet received the decision from the Special Investigation Service, but I can say that my submitted motion is evidently justified. It is clear that the Special Investigation Service would consider it unfounded; otherwise, there would be no grounds for rejecting the motion,” Aram Vardevanyan stated in an interview with 24News.
Recall that Ara Babloyan is accused under Article 300 and Article 314, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Armenia, alongside a group of officials, of usurping the powers of the Constitutional Court of Armenia, as well as committing official forgery.
