Civil Aviation Committee Recommends Armenian Airlines to Avoid Iraqi and Iranian Airspace
The Civil Aviation Committee of Armenia advises airlines registered in the Republic of Armenia to consider the recommendations of the European Union’s Flight Safety Risk Assessment Group and explore the possibility of temporarily bypassing the airspace of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran at all altitudes. This was stated on the Civil Aviation Committee's Facebook page.
"As previously mentioned, the Civil Aviation Committee continues to monitor the developments in the Middle East, including new circumstances related to the tragic crash of Ukrainian International Airlines' Boeing-737 in Tehran on January 8 of this year. The Civil Aviation Committee is closely cooperating with the aviation authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, international civil aviation organizations, the European Union's Flight Safety Risk Assessment Group, and all its partners to ensure flight safety," reads the statement.
Given the current situation, the Civil Aviation Committee urges airlines registered in the Republic of Armenia to take into account the recommendations of the European Union’s Flight Safety Risk Assessment Group and consider the possibility of temporarily bypassing the airspace of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran at all altitudes. Further information will be provided to the airlines registered in Armenia and the public if necessary," the post concluded.
