SSS Reveals Another Bribery Case
The National Security Service of the Republic of Armenia, diligently carrying out its functions assigned under the anti-corruption law, has uncovered a case of apparent corruption by officials of the community administration of the Arinj community in the Kotayk region.
The NSS reports that as a result of operational and investigative measures taken, it has been revealed that the officials of the Arinj community administration, under the pretext of carrying out actions within their authority to register land located in the community in the name of a citizen and to conduct cadastral formalities, demanded and received a bribe in the amount equivalent to 8,000 USD (3,784,000 AMD) from that citizen during the course of 2016.
As a result, the mentioned land has been transferred from the community administration to the possession of the indicated citizen.
A criminal case has been initiated in the investigative department of the NSS based on the relevant articles. An inquiry is underway.
