There is not a single entrepreneur who has faced discrimination, says Prime Minister
According to the results of 2019, there is not a single businessman or company in Armenia that could claim that the Armenian government has treated them with discrimination. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made this statement during a New Year reception held in honor of entrepreneurs.
“I want to once again affirm before you the political will of the Government of the Republic of Armenia to move forward on this path with confident, clear steps. I believe I can confidently assert that based on the results of 2019, there is no businessman or company in the Republic of Armenia that can claim the Armenian government has treated them with discrimination. If any company in the Republic of Armenia has faced discrimination, it means at least one thing: it means that I and high-ranking representatives of the government are unaware of it, and once we learn about officials who have shown such treatment, they will face the strictest punishment,” said the Prime Minister.
Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that he has previously stated that he envisions the business community in the role of a driver of economic revolution. “We consider the business community our number one ally in the development of Armenia in all aspects—economic development, political development, security development. This year, we take pride in carrying out unprecedented road construction works in Armenia. And I want to note that we have had that opportunity thanks to the taxes you have paid. Next year, we have set a higher benchmark in terms of those ambitions as well as capital investments, even though we have an underperformance issue in that area. We have set that benchmark with confidence in you, with confidence that the Armenian business community and the people engaged in business are exceptionally talented, and in 2020, they will undoubtedly generate greater results in their companies, thereby generating greater results for Armenia and its people,” said the Prime Minister.
