Those who are dissatisfied with the accessibility issue of the underground crossing are entirely justified. This was stated by Hakob Karapetyan, the spokesperson for the Mayor of Yerevan, on his Facebook page.

He particularly noted, “Unfortunately, we have not been able to effectively address the inclusivity issue of the bridge. The specifics of the temporary metal structure, along with the time constraints, have complicated the installation of an elevator for individuals using wheelchairs, while the steepness of the incline makes the existence of ramps impossible.”

“At this moment, I can confirm that the traffic police and patrolling officers on site are ready to assist all individuals using wheelchairs, including parents with strollers, in crossing the road. We ask for your understanding regarding this inconvenience,” he added.
