Samvel Aleksanyan Did Not Donate Any Kamaz Trucks to Yerevan Municipality, Mayor Marutyan Denies
Samvel Aleksanyan did not donate any Kamaz trucks to the Yerevan municipality. Yerevan Mayor Hayk Marutyan stated this in a brief conversation with journalists, referring to a statement by the 'Luminous' faction.
“Regarding this topic, I want to thank all those organizations and individuals who make donations or perform charitable acts for the community of Yerevan. This is a very important process. Yerevan certainly has its budget, but the issues we need to address far exceed what our budget allows. Therefore, we need the support of our compatriots living in Armenia and the diaspora. We are very happy that there are such people. I urge all our compatriots to help in any way they can,” said Hayk Marutyan.
When journalists insisted that the mayor disclose the names of those who have made donations, he responded, “To be honest, I don’t remember the names of those organizations right now, and at this moment, I can’t mention the names of individuals either, because to me, what is important is not who did what, but how much we actually have, and the quantity is very satisfactory.”
He noted that the city of Yerevan has received 19-20 vehicles as a gift, while the remaining 35 were purchased by the municipality. This refers to garbage collection vehicles.
