State Debt to Decrease, Says Finance Minister

During the presentation of the budget draft in the National Assembly, Finance Minister Atom Janjughazyan highlighted the major budget allocations and the amounts directed towards them in relation to GDP.

Accordingly, capital expenditures are expected to rise from 2.8% this year to 5% in 2020. Allocations for healthcare will increase by 22%, while education and social spending will rise by 11%.

In this context, according to Janjughazyan, a decrease in the burden of state debt is still anticipated. He stated that it could fall below 50% of gross domestic product, with this level potentially being reached by the end of this year.
