Violations Recorded at the Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine
The Health and Labor Inspection Body of Armenia has recorded violations at the Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine, operated by Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine LLC. The director of the LLC, Andrey Sinyakov, has been subjected to an administrative fine, as reported by EcoLur.
On July 2 of this year, the Inspection Body initiated an administrative process to determine compliance with mandatory health and safety requirements for employees at Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine LLC, as stipulated by Armenian legislation. The basis for the administrative proceedings were six incidents that occurred between January and May 2019, resulting in various degrees of bodily harm to employees.
In response to media inquiries about the results of the administrative proceedings, the head of the Health and Labor Inspection Body, Hakob Avagyan, stated in a letter dated October 24, 2019, that from July 8 to July 17, 2019, specialists from the Inspection Body conducted an inspection at the mine and enrichment plant of Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine LLC, located in the Agarak community. Following the inspection, directives were issued on August 8, 2019, to eliminate the identified violations.
The company is currently submitting documents (photographs, orders, purchase records, contracts, etc.) that confirm compliance with the directives within the established deadlines.
Furthermore, it is noted that the General Director of Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine LLC, as the person who committed the violations, has been penalized with an administrative fine for violating provisions outlined by Government Decisions No. 51-N of January 21, 2010, and No. 1277-N of October 29, 2009, regarding technical regulations for safe exploitation of open-pit mineral deposits and rules for the crushing, sorting, and processing of mineral resources, respectively.
