"Kocharian Was Not a Citizen of Armenia: Elected Based on Information from the Community" - Ruzanna Yeremyan
KP Deputy Ruzanna Yeremyan, addressing the topic of elections and the legitimacy of power in the National Assembly, recalled the presidential elections of 1998.
"I am not that young. In 1998, based on information from the community, the President of Armenia was elected; he was not a citizen of Armenia," she said.
Yeghdeyan also noted that he was the chairman of the election commission at that time and recalled one of the incidents that occurred during the elections. "I was the chairman of the election commission," the deputy said.
She reminded of the circumstances surrounding Robert Kocharian's election as president, responding to critics of power's legitimacy. "Robert Kocharian violated the Constitution, and now you are talking about legitimacy," Yeremyan declared.
