Recently, Narik Petrosyan, who discovered a newborn baby under sheets on Halabyan Street in Yerevan, shared details of the incident with News.am.

"I found the baby at 8:40 PM. A local resident approached me and said that there was a sound, like that of a dog or a baby. I said, 'Let's go check it out.' As soon as I arrived, I immediately noticed that a sound was coming from under the debris. For a moment, I wanted to hit it with my elbow to see if it made noise, but I refrained. I crouched down, opened the wrapper, and saw that it was a baby. I immediately picked her up and called for an ambulance, which arrived in 5 minutes, as did the police," Narik recounted.

He visited the baby today and was emotional about the reunion: "For someone to find a baby in their lifetime, it's like a stroke of luck. I have my own child, who I live for, but I will take care of this baby for the rest of my life. I hope they won’t reject the name I suggested for her. Now, on social media, everyone's writing, ‘Give me that baby to take care of,’ thinking that the baby is a toy and should be given to someone to hold. But they don't realize the baby will definitely end up in an orphanage from here on out; later, we will see what kind of family she will grow up in. It’s certain that a sadistic mother won’t take her back. I do not know the mother,” he added.

Narik noted that the baby was placed in an area where children play, among residents, implying it was intentionally left there to be found. "The baby wasn’t well taken care of. As a doctor says, I also believe that this child was indeed born yesterday, as there was the smell of blood," he mentioned.

It’s worth recalling that on August 10, at 8:43 PM, the National Police received a report about a newborn baby wrapped in cloth near building 13 on Halabyan Street. Thanks to the swift actions of the police, the newborn was quickly transferred to a medical facility. She was found under sheets.

The Ministry of Health announced today that the baby’s life is not in danger. She is currently breathing with the help of a CPAP device, and her health condition is satisfactory.
