22 Injuries Found on the Body of Soldier V. Galoyan According to Forensic Examination

Human rights defender Zhanna Aleksanyan has written on Facebook that a forensic examination of the body of Volodya Galoyan, who died in the Martuni military unit in Artsakh, revealed 22 bodily injuries. The complete post is presented below.

“A forensic examination of the body of Volodya Galoyan, who died in the Martuni military unit of Artsakh, revealed 22 bodily injuries. This indicates that the young man was brutally beaten before his death. However, the investigators stubbornly continue to conduct the investigation around the false premise of suicide. This version was disseminated by the Investigative Committee just three hours after the incident,” she wrote.

It is noted that on July 23, 2019, at around 22:55, conscript soldier, Private Volodya Hamleti Galoyan, fired a burst from his AK-74 assault rifle in the direction of the senior officer at the military position near the area of the N military unit, with the direct intent of unlawfully killing another person. However, Galoyan's crime was not completed due to circumstances beyond his control.

Immediately after firing the rounds, Galoyan left the position area with his AK-74 assault rifle. Subsequently, on July 24, 2019, at around 04:20, his body was found approximately 50 meters from the observation post, with a gunshot wound to the lower jaw, alongside his fallen rifle.
