Major Accident: Sculptor Levon Igityan and Insurance Company Director Among the Injured

A major car accident occurred in the Gegharkunik region. Yesterday, on October 30th, around 3:30 PM, a collision took place on the 11th kilometer mark of the Martuni-Vardenis-Karvachar highway between a Mercedes G63 with license plate 888 GG 86, driven by 68-year-old Artavazd Yakhshibekyan, a resident of Yerevan, and a Mercedes T500 with license plate E 536 HK 196 RUS, driven by 45-year-old Valentin Khachatryan, a resident of the Gegharkunik region.

According to Shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, the passengers of V. Khachatryan included 21-year-old Karen Petrosyan from the village of Mets Masrik in Gegharkunik and 22-year-old Andranik Khachatryan from Yerevan, as well as driver A. Yakhshibekyan and his passenger, 80-year-old Levon Igityan from Yerevan. All were transported to the 'Martuni' medical center with various injuries.

As reported by G. Shamshyan, driver A. Yakhshibekyan informed law enforcement authorities that he is the director of the 'Nairi Insurance' company, while the other injured individual is Levon Igityan, a well-known sculptor and former member of the Yerevan City Council.
