The Cause of Lawlessness is Pashinyan, Who is Drunk on Power and in an Authoritarian Hangover: Ashotyan
The decision to arrest Arsen Babayan is a manifestation of the prevailing lawlessness in the country. This was stated by the Vice President of the Republican Party of Armenia, Armen Ashotyan, on his Facebook page.
He specifically wrote, "Unlike Ancient Rome, where Bacchanalias lasted only a few days, in Armenia we are dealing with a permanent, chronic depraved revelry. In the past, the state would prohibit Bacchanalias and punish participants, but today in Armenia, it is the authorities that encourage immorality and punish those who dare to speak the truth loudly.
If in ancient times the occasion for Bacchanalias was drunkenness due to uncontrolled alcohol, then in Armenia, the cause of this lawlessness is Pashinyan, who is drunk on power and in an authoritarian hangover. If in ancient times almost anything was permissible during those days, and after the orgies, everyone tried to forget what had happened and return to normal life, then in Armenia, when this nightmare ends, nothing and no one will be forgotten.
Arsen Babayan is yet another political prisoner. I am confident he will not be the last. Stay strong!"
