Cross Dedicated to Wolfgang Vogel, by Armenians, Vandalized
A vandalism incident has occurred in the German city of Erlangen. The act of vandalism was directed towards a cross located in the courtyard of a Catholic church. The cross was erected in memory of Wolfgang Vogel, a German politician and member of the Social Democratic Party, who passed away in 2017.
According to reports from Nordbayern, church employees found the black marble cross toppled and broken in the middle on the morning after the incident. The cross was installed by the local Armenian organization 'Hajastan-Armenienhilfe' in honor of Vogel.
Inscribed on the cross are Vogel's name, surname, and the years of his birth and death (1950-2017). As noted by local media, Vogel was known for his pro-Armenian stance.
