The Chair of the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs of the National Assembly, Naira Zohrabyan, has shared a photo with her dog on her Facebook page, expressing gratitude on behalf of all animals.

She specifically stated: "Just now, the Standing Committee on Legal Affairs gave a positive conclusion to the amendment to the Criminal Code proposed by me and my colleagues, which imposes criminal responsibility for the cruel treatment, killing, and torture of animals. I thank the committee and the Deputy Minister of Justice for enhancing the draft with quite competent suggestions. I hope that in the upcoming parliamentary session, the National Assembly will ratify our draft that has received a positive conclusion, and we will protect helpless animals with the force of law from various 'brutes.'"
