Law Enforcement Prevents Armed Showdown in Yerevan, Over a Dozen Detained

During the night, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Yerevan Police, in cooperation with the Erebuni division and the Investigative Committee of Armenia, prevented an armed confrontation at a gas station near the well-known "Vstrechi" intersection in the Erebuni administrative district of Yerevan.

According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, the police and investigators, acting on operational information, swiftly neutralized the situation and detained over a dozen individuals, whose identities are currently withheld in the interest of the preliminary investigation.

At the scene of the confrontation, two Makarov-type pistols were discovered, each loaded with 9mm cartridges. A criminal case has been initiated by the Erebuni and Nubarashen Investigative Division of the Yerevan Investigative Committee following the incident.

Several vehicles were also found at the scene, and authorities are currently verifying the involvement of their drivers in the altercation.
