Death Toll from Landslide in Myanmar Exceeds 50
At least 51 people have died due to a landslide that occurred on August 9 in eastern Myanmar, according to reports from Xinhua citing rescue officials.
As reported by Armenpress, referencing TASS, the landslide was triggered by heavy rainfall that had been ongoing in the region for several days. In Mon State, around 30 houses collapsed, more than 80 people are missing, and dozens have been hospitalized.
Previously, reports indicated 41 fatalities. Search and rescue operations are ongoing, utilizing special detectors that indicate signs of life.
