Vahe Parazyan Files Complaint Against Samvel Karapetyan's Nephew, Previously Arrested
Recently, the media reported that Narek Karapetyan, the nephew of Samvel Karapetyan, owner of the "Tashir" company, allegedly assaulted Vahe Parazyan, demanding the transfer of 10 million euros embezzled from the company to the Artsakh Support Fund.
Narek Karapetyan denied any involvement in such an incident in an interview with the media, stating that the accusations against him are part of a smear campaign. Today, the Special Investigation Service announced that charges have been brought against Narek Karapetyan and his friend, and they have been taken in for questioning.
According to sources from NEWS.am, the conflict between the Parazyans and the Karapetyans has a history spanning several years. The situation traces back to 2016 when Vahe Parazyan's father, Ashot Parazyan, worked at the "Tashir" company, from which he was dismissed amid a scandal for developing a corruption scheme with the company’s contractors to embezzle a substantial amount of money.
Reports indicate that Narek Karapetyan's last meeting with Vahe Parazyan took place at the "Syzins" resort, initiated by Parazyan. Witnesses testified that Parazyan attempted to make amends and proposed a new business venture to Karapetyan, but after being rejected, he tried to strike Narek Karapetyan, leading to security staff intervening.
Vahe Parazyan declared that he intends to use the incident to take revenge against the Karapetyans.
Notably, this is not the only criminal case involving Vahe Parazyan. He has been previously arrested for physically abducting Russian businessman Margaryan and for fraud. Margaryan's lawyer, Oleg Korennoi, informed "Rusarminfo" that investigations revealed that on June 29, 2015, three individuals, at the behest of Vahe Parazyan, abducted Margaryan, assaulted him, and transported him to Moscow.
