I was trapped in the elevator for over an hour: Davtashen resident recounts elevator accident

The elevator descended from the third floor at a rate faster than usual and then fell. This was reported to NEWS.am today, July 11, by Georgi Danielyan, who was trapped in the elevator in the Davtashen district.

According to him, neighbors came to help before the rescue team arrived. “I was coming down from the sixth floor, and the elevator accelerated near the third floor and fell. It descended about 20 centimeters. How it fell, the specialists will figure out. The neighbors came to help, opened the doors a bit, called for help, and I got out. I was stuck in the elevator for over an hour,” the citizen recounted.

He stated that he did not sustain any injuries but felt frightened. “That noise makes your heart skip a bit; to say I wasn’t scared would be a lie. They wanted to break down the doors, but I said I was fine, and I hadn’t been hurt. They came and got me out, and the elevator was fixed; now it is working fine,” the man said.
