Yerevan Municipality's Inactivity Has Become a Stalemate, Says Davit Khajakyan
The inactivity of the Yerevan Municipality has turned into a stalemate in certain sectors. This was stated by Davit Khajakyan, the head of the "Lus" faction in the Yerevan Council, on his Facebook page.
“For months, entrepreneurs have been waiting for the auction for leasing areas intended for cafes in the Zoo. The absurdity of the situation is that this issue has been discussed for months, principles have been determined, yet the auction for leasing has not taken place since the start of the park’s operational season, and naturally, the cafe areas are not functioning. It turns out that the city authorities only talk about investments, but when it comes to action, they do not fulfill their obligations. Mr. Mayor, investments will not come this way, and the visiting tourists will leave without returning. Conclude the ongoing process; the season is halfway through, and numerous entrepreneurs are waiting for the auction. I’m not even mentioning the losses incurred to the budget’s revenues; the ready areas remain locked up.”
“I have been dealing with this issue in a work capacity for over two months, trying to address the observations of the entrepreneurs who contacted me, and in vain... the inactivity is chronic,” he noted.
