Armenian-Georgian Unified Tourism Package is in Effect, Says Deputy Minister
The Armenian-Georgian unified tourism package is now in effect. This was announced today, June 28, by the Deputy Minister of Economy, Avag Avanesyan, during a press conference at the Central Bank training center in Dilijan, where the Armenian-Georgian Business Forum is taking place.
“Georgian tourism is quite developed, but we also need to consider the climatic conditions Georgia has,” he said, adding that Russians are coming to Georgia for vacation because beach tourism is more expensive in other locations than in Georgia. “Armenia cannot offer beach tourism; we offer extreme tourism, cultural tourism, and gastronomy tourism, which can serve as a combined product for both us and the Georgians,” the deputy minister emphasized.
Commenting on the construction of the Armenian-Georgian bridge, Avanesyan stated that it will undoubtedly contribute to the growth of Armenian-Georgian trade turnover. “First, the speed will increase, and also the quality of infrastructure. This could be one of the first programs where both the Armenian and Georgian sides collaborate to create results. If this program succeeds, we will already test other projects,” he added.
It is noteworthy that the Armenian-Georgian Business Forum has commenced today at the Central Bank training center in Dilijan, with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan.
