Residents Block Gyumri-Yerevan Highway Demanding Mayor's Resignation
Residents of the Ani community in Shirak Province blocked the Gyumri-Yerevan highway this morning, June 21, demanding the resignation of Mayor Artak Gevorgyan. According to them, the mayor has held this position for 15 years and has continued to rob them.
In a conversation with NEWS.am, Mayor Artak Gevorgyan stated that he does not intend to resign, as he was elected with the trust of the people.
“We are doing our work, and there can be complaints and dissatisfaction everywhere, but they must be substantiated. At this moment, the road is open and everything is functioning normally. I am doing my job, serving the people and our state,” said Gevorgyan.
