VIDEO: Major Accident in Syunik Region, Casualties Reported

On June 17, at 13:02, the 911 service received a report of a traffic accident near Noravan village in the Syunik region, indicating that rescuers were needed.

The Ministry of Emergency Situations reports that a firefighter-rescue team has been dispatched to the scene.

It was found that vehicles involved in the accident include a "Lada Granta" (driver: A.A., born in 1989) and an "Opel Astra" (driver: A.H., born in 1997) on the 12th kilometer of the Sisian-Goris section of the Yerevan-Meghri M-2 highway.

Before the rescuers arrived at the scene, the driver of the "Opel Astra" was hospitalized with the help of citizens to Sisian Medical Center, where doctors assessed his health condition as of medium severity.

The rescuers extracted the driver from the "Lada Granta" and brought him to the ambulance. He was also hospitalized at the Sisian Medical Center, where his health condition was assessed as serious.

The rescuers disconnected the vehicles' batteries and shut off the gas cylinder valves.
