HETU Teachers File Lawsuit Against Acting Rector
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that teachers from the Armenian State University of Economics have filed a lawsuit against Ruben Hayrapetyan, the acting rector. This follows their open letter to the Prime Minister, protesting against new regulations that contradict the university's charter and other laws.
Out of the 26 signatories of the letter, 16 have signed the lawsuit. They have also addressed the Human Rights Defender. However, the acting rector has started a faculty competition in accordance with the regulation approved by the Scientific Council.
The teachers who have filed the lawsuit hope that the court will first suspend this competitive process and then nullify the regulations.
