VIDEO: Pashinyan Raised a Rhetorical Question, Not Referring to Mr. Kocharian, Lawyer Says

We are satisfied with the statement that Nikol Pashinyan did not mean Robert Kocharian. This was stated today, June 12, during a conversation with reporters by Hayk Alumyann, Kocharian's representative in the case against Pashinyan.

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's representative Gevorg Gyozalyan insisted that the statement was not directed at a specific individual. "You may recall that at that time, there were comments in the academic circle that heads of state are endowed with absolute immunity. My client made a statement regarding the interpretation, mentioning examples, while simultaneously raising a rhetorical question, not referring to Mr. Kocharian," he noted.

It is noteworthy that the plaintiff has deemed Pashinyan's remarks made in France as slanderous and offensive. Pashinyan had stated: "Or even the comment regarding the release of Robert Kocharian. He says he is immune. What does it mean to be immune? In other words, can one organize the killing of people and say, 'Am I immune?' Where is that written?"

During the session, Hayk Alumyann stated that if their procedural opponent declares that Pashinyan did not refer to Robert Kocharian with this statement, they will withdraw their lawsuit.
