Medical University Acquires Property Worth 222 Million at Above-Market Price

The Republic of Armenia's State Audit Office has announced the completion of an investigation at the Yerevan M. Heratsi State Medical University Foundation. The investigation revealed issues related to the organization of procurement procedures, calculation of additional salaries, and the execution of construction works at the university.

Additionally, property worth 222.0 million was acquired without any purchase procedure, at a price exceeding the market value. There are substantiated suspicions that the property has been utilized for commercial purposes by individuals not associated with the university.

Notably, individuals holding high administrative positions at the university have consistently received additional salaries that far exceed their official salaries. In this context, the highest average additional monthly salaries have reached 5.1 million, 3.8 million, and 3.3 million drams.

To verify the presence of elements of a crime, the compiled report has been forwarded to the Office of the Prosecutor General of Armenia.
