Clarification on the Sexual Assault of a 10-Year-Old Boy

The head of the 3rd Division of the Police Criminal Investigation Department, Colonel Nelli Duryan, made a statement on her Facebook page regarding a publication from one of the websites, which claimed that a 10-year-old boy was subjected to sexual violence at the "Republican Special School No. 1", and that a criminal case had been sent to court.

"Some users have presented the above case as a recent incident. It should be noted that the incident occurred in January 2018. Following verification of operational data received by the specialized division of the police dealing with minors and prevention of domestic violence, it was established that a 16-year-old student, identified as T., had sexual relations with 14-year-old H. against his will at the institution in January 2018. A criminal case was initiated on January 14, 2018, under Part 2, Clause 3 of Article 139 of the RA Criminal Code, which was sent to court on May 31 of this year with an accusatory conclusion," Nelli Duryan clarified.
