VIDEO. Administrative Resources Used in the Most Outrageous Way - Iveta Tonoyan

The candidate for the mayor of Abovyan, Vahagn Gevorgyan, has had 3 of his supporters detained in connection with a car accident, while one, Jivansh Zargaryan, is suspected of illegal weapon possession. This was stated by Iveta Tonoyan, a member of the National Assembly's Prosperous Armenia faction, in an interview with reporters.

“At the time of our visit, Jivansh Zargaryan and three other individuals had been detained. After our visit, the three individuals, who were said to be suspected in connection with some incident of a car accident, were released a few minutes later, while Jivansh Zargaryan remained there for about three hours,” said Iveta Tonoyan.

She noted that she sees a political subtext in all this: “Naturally, administrative resources are being used in the most outrageous way, and sadly, I must record that the methods used by the previous authorities, when the entire administrative resource was utilized during any kind of local self-government elections, are also being used by the current authorities.”
