We No Longer Control the Situation in Kosovo, Says Serbian President

Serbia must accept that it no longer controls the situation in Kosovo. This was announced by Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić during a speech in parliament, as reported by РИА Новости.

He also mentioned that Serbia needs to choose how to develop its relationship with Kosovo—either freeze the conflict or establish connections.

“I have decided to stop the lies and self-deception. I have told everyone that we have no authority in Kosovo and Metohija, except for actual healthcare and education, and we need to stop deceiving our society,” emphasized the Serbian President.

At the same time, he stated that he personally is in favor of normalizing relations with the unrecognized republic.

On February 17, 2008, the Albanian authorities of Kosovo declared the region's independence, which was immediately recognized by the USA, the UK, France, Germany, and other leading countries around the world.
