"There Are No Such Videos or Photos: I Did Not Burn or Trample the Russian Flag" Says Aragatsotn Governor
Aragatsotn Governor Davit Gevorgyan insists that he has never held a negative stance towards Russia and that the materials circulating about him burning or trampling the Russian flag are not true.
This was stated by the governor in an interview with Tert.am.
"What is written in the article does not correspond to reality; I have never had such a position towards Russia, nor do I. As to the purpose of writing such an article and what it signifies, evaluations have been provided by hundreds, thousands of citizens since yesterday," added Davit Gevorgyan.
In response to comments that there are videos and pictures, he reacted by saying that there are no such videos or pictures where he expresses such a position or tramples a flag.
It is noteworthy that Politik.am reported that Aragatsotn Governor Davit Gevorgyan had previously participated in protests organized in front of the Russian Embassy in Armenia, and that he and a friend had attempted to burn the Russian state flag four years ago, and when police tried to prevent it, Gevorgyan threw the Russian flag to the ground and wiped his shoes on it.
