Famous Cardiologist Emigrates Due to Deceit of Serj Sargsyan's Protégé: Hovsep Khurshudyan
Member of the "Heritage" party Hovsep Khurshudyan wrote on his Facebook page: "Today I received information from a reliable source that Hrayr Hovakimyan, who has world-renowned reputation and is considered one of the top 5 cardiologists in the world, who founded the Marashi clinic and worked there for many years (including performing free heart surgeries for thousands of children), has left the clinic disillusioned by the deceit of the former director who is associated with Serj Sargsyan. This former director was known for playing with his name and extorting large amounts of money from patients under his name. He has emigrated to the USA, where he continues to work at a very high level, even by American standards, despite his advanced age.
Although he regularly visits Armenia and performs free surgeries for patients with complex issues, especially for children, his absence from Armenia has been a significant blow not only to the health of our fellow citizens but also to the international reputation of Armenian healthcare.
I believe that bringing him back to Armenia is one of the country's most important tasks. A challenge that should become a concern for the acting director of the clinic, and if he is unsuccessful (it has already been 9 months since this appointment), it should become the responsibility of the Minister of Health, even personally, the Prime Minister. Yes, building a country requires convincing, asking, and bringing back renowned and talented specialists, just like Alexander Myasnikyan did, one by one."
