Vanetsyan Advises Sanasaryan's Defenders to File a Criminal Case Against NSS Employees with the Investigative Committee
I have no influence on the pre-trial investigation, let alone on the court. If we evaluate with statements, then my statements are nothing compared to what they have done.
In response to a question from Radio Azatutyun regarding whether the defenders of Davit Sanasaryan claim that they cannot defend their case due to the statements made by the NSS Director, Arthur Vanetsyan replied:
He noted that Sanasaryan's defenders themselves make statements that could be interpreted as reporting a crime. "In other words, they declare that the case is fabricated, that the case is contrived. If these people are so confident in their statements, then I advise them to approach the Prosecutor General or the Investigative Committee to file a criminal case against NSS employees.
I advise and ask those people who make such statements to contact law enforcement agencies to have a criminal case opened against us," he said.
In response to the observation that they indicate such statements already show that the case is formal, Vanetsyan said, "Today in Armenia, the NSS director is not a person who can exert illegal influence on other law enforcement agencies. We, our service, are doing our job, and what we do, we do for the security of our country; in my estimation, we have quite positive results."
