No Armenians on the Burned Aircraft, Says Armenian Embassy in Russia

The Armenian Embassy in Russia has clarified information regarding the presence of Armenian citizens on the burned aircraft operating the Moscow-Murmansk flight.

There were no Armenians on the burned aircraft operating the Moscow-Murmansk flight, the Armenian Embassy in Russia informed NEWS.am.

"According to the information clarified by the embassy, there were no Armenians among the passengers of the aircraft," embassy representatives stated in a conversation with the news outlet.

It is noteworthy that on Sunday evening, an accident occurred involving a Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft flying from Moscow to Murmansk. The crew had to urgently return to Sheremetyevo 28 minutes after takeoff due to poor weather conditions, and they could only land the aircraft on their second attempt. During the landing, the aircraft's landing gear broke, and the engines caught fire. The fire then spread to the tail section of the aircraft.

According to the latest information, there were 78 people on board, of which 41 were reported to have died.
